Installed a new 2-gang nail on box with 2 new duplex outlets. Installed a new 15A AFCI/GFCI Eaton CH breaker to supply our new outlets for the tankless water heater that was currently being installed.
Panel replacements, service upgrades, subpanels and breaker replacement for homes across Raleigh, Cary, Apex and Wake County, including AFCI and GFCI breakers that keep tripping.

Your panel feeds every circuit in the house. Most panel calls turn out to be one of three things: a worn-out breaker, a loose connection, or a panel that’s out of room or past its life. We find out which before recommending anything.
Breaker replacement is the smallest job: we test the circuit, confirm the breaker is the problem, and replace it with the correct type for your panel brand, including AFCI and GFCI breakers.
Making room comes next. A full panel can often take a new circuit with tandem breakers, or a subpanel in the garage or basement.
Panel replacement or a service upgrade is the biggest job. The old panel comes out, a new one goes in, and every circuit is reconnected and labeled. A service upgrade, such as moving to 200 amps, also replaces the meter base and the wiring from the utility. The National Electrical Code also calls for a surge protector whenever a home’s service equipment is installed or replaced.
In one Cary home we replaced the main panel with a larger one and, in the same visit, added circuits for the garage and a future cold plunge.
Panel replacements, subpanels and service upgrades need an electrical permit and an inspection. Swapping a breaker like for like usually doesn’t. We pull the permit through your city, town or county. Each town page lists the right office.
From our office in Cary, we serve homes and businesses across the Triangle, most often in Raleigh, Cary and Apex, and in nearby towns including Durham, Chapel Hill, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Fuquay-Varina and Wake Forest.
It depends on where the home is: the City of Raleigh, the Town of Cary, the Town of Apex, or Wake County for unincorporated areas.
Often a single bad breaker is the problem, and replacing it is a quick job. We test the panel and the circuit before recommending anything bigger, and we'll tell you if the panel itself is fine.
For a full panel replacement, usually for most of a day. Breaker replacements and subpanel work usually mean a short outage on the affected circuits only.
Usually. Tandem breakers or a subpanel can free up space, and we check whether your service can handle the extra load before installing anything.

Wow! Spencer and Juan came to my home and were very knowledgeable about the issues I was having with my breaker box. They were also very prompt, kind and honest. Roy Electric highly recommend!

Did a fantastic job, changed out a 220V receptacle to one rated for 50 A. Rewired my panel to make it work and ensured had the right size wire.

Bobby and Spencer installed a whole house surge protector in my panel. They relocated existing breakers to place the protector at the top of the bus bar. They also relabeled the affected breakers. The whole procedure only took 20 minutes. I highly recommend these guys!
Other folks might have just popped in the protector at the bottom of the panel but they did the right thing. I will definitely use them in the future!

Your go to when it comes to electrical issues. Trust me. It started with a simple pull of a chain that was “connected” to a smoke alarm. The first round of troubleshooting came up empty. Second round, fresh eyes, found the issue (no offense to the first time folks), fixed that issue.
Third time, same thing happened, not the chain, but the switch. Unplugging a shop vac, because the A/C decided it was time to quit (never ends)…R.E. sends Bobby back. This time he is at a loss as to what made this happen again. He calls for back-up. The Boss comes in.
Did some deep trouble shooting…AHA…of course it’s not even close to where all thought it would be. It was behind that panel, you know, that panel we so proudly flip a switch to reset that “breaker” and voila we did it! We made a light turn back on.
Little do we know that there are a gazillion wires behind this panel of switches. Where if one line, this so called neutral line(?) isn’t connected or wired correctly it creates havoc. Two lines at this #21 breaker.
One line shorter than the other but a smaller piece was added to make it same length so it could be together then to have a crack in that smaller wire. This not good. Things happen over time.
Bobby, his Boss, the two other gentlemen who worked this huge issue which turns out it was rather a small one, they could very well be “heroes”. Because I certainly am grateful for their knowledge. Their patience when I’m asking “how or why” does this happen.
We flip a switch, light goes on … light goes out…when this doesn’t happen sheer terror! Long story short, these folks know their stuff. Recommend them for any job that has to do with red green white black copper neutral wires … thank you.

Bobby & Spencer did an absolutely outstanding job adding a 60amp breaker, running 60amp wiring up the garage wall, above the garage and down the other wall to install my EV charger. They did this in very hot weather so I was sure to put a fan in the garage and provide lots of cold beverages for them.
Bobby & Spencer were incredibly kind, courteous, friendly & professional. They also installed an additional receptacle in my laundry room. Roy Electric is a pleasure to work with and Bobby & Spencer are definite assets to the company.

Very reasonable pricing. I had outlets installed and a 50-amp breaker for my electric charging station. Spencer was great at going through options and was able to use critical thinking and logic to help me place the EV charging station for best efficiency. I would highly recommend Roy Electric.

Installed a new 2-gang nail on box with 2 new duplex outlets. Installed a new 15A AFCI/GFCI Eaton CH breaker to supply our new outlets for the tankless water heater that was currently being installed.

Troubleshot an existing 15A receptacle circuit and identified a standard 15A receptacle being supplied by a 30A 240V circuit breaker.

Took down an old ceiling fan & replaced it with a new small light fixture. Replaced a standard duplex outlet with a new USB outlet. Replaced 2 Eaton CH breakers one 15A & one 20A & installed a new 3-way decora switch.

We repaired a round fixture box that was holding a small chandelier. troubleshot a receptacle with no power.
Call or text our office, or send us the details and a photo and we'll follow up to schedule a visit.
