Commercial electrician in Raleigh, Cary and Apex

When to call us

  • Opening or renovating a retail, restaurant or office space
  • New equipment, coolers or freezers need power
  • Signs, lighting or GFCI outlets keep failing

Along with homes, we work for shops, restaurants, offices and builders, from a dedicated circuit for a new sign to the full electrical work on new construction.

What the work involves

Service calls for failed lighting, tripping breakers, dead outlets and exit signs.

Equipment circuits for coolers, freezers, kitchen equipment and new machines.

Signs and exterior lighting, including dedicated circuits and time clocks.

Tenant improvements and new construction, wired to the plans for the space.

How we do it

  1. We look at the space, the equipment and the panel capacity, and the plans if there are any.
  2. We schedule around your business hours where we can, so the work doesn’t close your doors.
  3. We pull the permit, do the work, and arrange the inspection.

For one Raleigh storefront we ran a dedicated 20-amp circuit from the panel to a new sign and added a time clock so the sign turns on and off by itself.

What affects the cost

  • The size of the job: a service call, a few circuits, or a full build-out
  • Panel capacity, and whether the space needs new service equipment
  • Access to the wiring, such as ceilings, slab or finished walls
  • Scheduling outside business hours
  • Plan review and permit requirements for the project

Permits

Commercial electrical work is permitted and inspected through the city, town or county, and larger projects may need plan review first. We handle the permit and coordinate with your general contractor if you have one. Each town page lists the right office.

What customers say about our commercial work

4.8 on Google from 280 reviews

  • Bobby was an absolute delight. At 26 years old, he restored my faith in the future of the younger generation. He was technically qualified having 7 years of experience and was educational to me to help understand what was happening with my light switches no longer operating.

I would gladly call back Roy Electric and ask for Bobby for any of my future electrical needs.

    Jeff J., Fuquay-Varina August 2026
